RMACI's Mission RMACI's mission is to promote excellence in the field of Women's Health billing and coding by serving as a partner in telling better patient stories.
Many people see coding as a burdensome task that one has to do in order to receive payment from third party payers. If you look at it that way, it's not very interesting. It's something you do because it is a necessary, but very distasteful, part of doing business in the medical field in the U.S. Because we don't like to do it very much, it produces a series of undesirable results... • We don’t understand it, so we don’t see its value. • We don’t value it, so we don’t study it. • We don’t study it, so we don’t excel at it. • We don’t excel at it, so we are tempted to take inappropriate shortcuts and not adhere to the highest standards. • We don’t adhere to the highest standards, so we are exposed to substandard outcomes and financial risk associated with audit and claim recoupment. However, what if you look at coding as telling the patient's story? Explaining the "who-what-where-when-how-why" in the most detailed and accurate way possible? When you approach coding from that perspective, you are mirroring the process that providers use to arrive at a diagnosis for the patient. The only difference is that you are using codes from prescribed code sets, instead of words, sentences, and paragraphs. If we see coding as telling a better story, then our coding will be more accurate and more ethically appropriate.
  • RMACI's Vision
RMACI is the most highly knowledgeable, client-friendly, and cost-effective partner in the field of medical biling and coding for Women's Health practices in the United States.
  • RMACI's Values
RMACI will always... 1. Adhere to the highest possible ethical standard. This is true in our business dealings and relationships with our partners and in all of our advice to our partners. We will not counsel clients to "cut corners" or take actions that have even the appearance of impropriety. Clients have the right to take our advice, or not. However, if clients choose not to take our advice on ethical issues, we may not be the right partner for you. 2. Strive for excellence in all that we do, including exceeding partner expectations. "Settling" or "meeting the minimum standard" is not acceptable and is not tolerated. We will provide the best advice and education available in an environment of service excellence. 3. Promote our passion for story-telling. We will do everything possible to encourage our clients to see coding as we do--telling the most accurate story about "what" was done and "why" it was done, using the appropriate procedure and diagnosis code sets. 4. Provide interesting and relevant education that emphasizes our belief that coding can and should be fun. Identifying the correct code is like solving a mystery--what code(s) best describe the patient's care and condition(s)? Because we value excellence and love coding, it will be obvious in the education that our partners receive.
